Ancient olive trees on the grounds of the Ex Convento de San Francisco in Tzintzuntzan on Lake Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. These trees are said to have been planted by Vasco de Quiroga in the 16th century and are considered to be the oldest olive trees in the Americas. Bishop Vasco de Quiroga established village cooperatives established on the Utopian ideas of Sit Thomas More.
