Xochicalco flourished between 700 and 900 AD and was once one of the most important ciities in Mesoamerica. Xochicalco was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. This structure is a good example of talud-tablero style architecture, which was common throughout ancient Mesoamerica.
